Printmaking

As a Printmaker, I primarily work in relief and screen printing though I am also versed in monoprinting, etching, letterpress, and book arts. I have used mounted and unmounted linoleum as well as wood for relief printing with styles of registration developed in different countries. I draw inspiration from my surroundings, usually working from sketches and photographs for both printmaking and digital art. Since printmaking is the predecessor to graphic design, I combine elements important to each medium both conceptually and compositionally. I have recently combined these even further by digitally creating a design and then screen printing the image. Though these mediums can be vastly different, I believe creating in both strengthens my design structurally and allows me a wider range of possibilities.
